Wayne White's Art Career and the View-Master® Influence

Wayne White is an American artist, art director, illustrator, puppeteer, and much, much more. Wayne has used his memories of the South to create inspired works for film, television, and the fine art world. In 1986, Wayne became a designer for the hit television show Pee-wee's Playhouse, and his work was awarded with three Emmys.

Wayne has also designed sets and characters for shows such as Shining Time Station, Beakman's World, Riders In The Sky, and Bill & Willis. He has also won Billboard and MTV Music Video Awards as an art director for seminal music videos including The Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight, Tonight and Peter Gabriel's Big Time.

In this TEDx program appearance videotaped near Nashville, Tennesee, White talks about his influences including how the two-dimensional sculptured cartoon characters in View-Master's 3-D world became a vision he wanted to reach. "To me this was a real world and it gave me such a deep, funny feeling," said White, "I longed to be part of this world but I couldn't quite reach it. I think that is a thing that most artists share. We glimpsed a vision that we want to reach and we chase that vision our whole lives."

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

Wonder Woman 3-D Crushed The Box Office With Approximately 43% Of Estimated $223 Million Worldwide In 3-D Ticket Sales

Wonder Woman 3-D poster art

RealD Inc., the world's largest 3-D cinema platform and visual technology company, announced today that Warner Bros. epic action film Wonder Woman generated an outstanding 43% of its worldwide gross from 3-D performances of the film. $95 million of the total estimated nearly $223 million worldwide came from 3-D ticket sales and an estimated $36 million was collected from RealD equipped locations.

The highest performing 3-D countries internationally include China (100%), UK (23%), Russia (46%), Brazil (79%), Mexico (22%) and Hong Kong (36%). In the United States, 29% of the film's $100.5M opening came from 3-D performances.

"Wonder Woman has blown away critics and wowed audiences all over the world. It is a spectacularly crafted and visually stunning action adventure film that is just epic when experienced in RealD 3-D and other 3-D formats," said Travis Reid, President of Worldwide Cinema and Chief Operating Officer for RealD. "It is exactly the kind of film moviegoers are looking for when they choose to see a film in 3-D. Congratulations to our friends at Warner Bros. for raising the bar on summer entertainment."

About Wonder Woman
Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure Wonder Woman. The film also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen and Elena Anaya.

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

Patty Jenkins directed the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, story by Zack Snyder and Allan Heinberg and Jason Fuchs, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston. The film was produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Richard Suckle, with Stephen Jones, Geoff Johns, Wesley Coller, Jon Berg and Rebecca Steel Roven serving as executive producers.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Tencent Pictures and Wanda Pictures, an Atlas Entertainment/Cruel and Unusual production, Wonder Woman. The film was released worldwide beginning June 2, 2017, distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
