The Stewardesses in 3-D to be Released on 3-D Blu-ray in December

The Stewardesses in 3-D Blu-ray cover art

Kino Lorber will release the 3-D Blu-ray version of The Stewardesses in 3-D in December 2016. The 3-D short Experiments in Love will be included on the Blu-ray disk. According to Bob Furmanek with The 3-D Film Archive, the film was restored in 2008 by the late "Mr 3-D" Daniel L. Symmes.

It’s 1969 and the skies have never been friendlier. Experience a day in the life of a group of swinging stewardesses where anything goes. After The Stewardesses film opened in San Francisco in the summer of ’69, it ignited screens across the country, building a buzz that the Hollywood majors would die for. During the film’s run into the early ’70s, new scenes would be filmed and added to bring more story and “action” to the feature.

Viewer - Horror Film Short about a Mysterious View-Master® Viewer

Scene from the short film Viewer.

"View What's Possible" is the slogan Mattel uses to sell the View-Master® 3-D viewer. Tyler Moldovan and Andrew Brown peered into the toy and viewed a horror film. “It is a coming-of-age horror film about love and loss through the eye of a mysterious View-Master® toy,” Brown said.

Their new short film, called Viewer, premiered just in time for Halloween at Desmond District Demons,a film festival for horror shorts. The film was shot entirely in St. Clair, Michigan. Unfortunately, the film itself is not in 3-D.

Moldovan, 22, of Port Huron, and Brown, 31, of St. Clair, have a production company, called To Shibalba Productions, that mixes the mundane, shooting commercial projects and event videography, with the horrific.

Their horror film night featured a number of short films. All were produced in Michigan and four were made by St. Clair County residents.

“We have both worked on films in different areas of Michigan and the collaboration and desire of the local filmmakers in the Blue Water Area has been unparalleled,” Moldovan said. “The community is always willing to lend a hand to one another’s efforts.”

And because of that film community, the duo hopes to eventually host a larger scale film festival in Port Huron in the future.

Their own horror film was nearing completion and they thought Halloween weekend would be the most fitting time to premiere it, while also supporting other local filmmakers.

The short film Viewer was available to view online on Halloween for one day only.
