The 42nd National Stereoscopic Association (NSA) convention will be held from July 12 through 18 at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are many special events planned during the week. Check out the NSA 3-D CON website for more information about the acitvities.
Guest speakers Dr. Brian May (rock star and lead guitarist of Queen) and Denis Pellerin will talk about their new book titled Crinoline: Fashion's Most Magnificent Disaster.
3D-CON's Stereo Theatre features HD digital projection on a 16 ' x 9' screen of an eclectic mix of presentations encompassing a diverse range of subjects and techniques.
Image competitions, both modern and vintage, are a long-time tradition of the annual NSA conventions. They are an opportunity for all NSA members to share their work. The awards represent the judges appreciation of specific entries, but the primary objective is the sharing of our love of 3-D photography with our colleagues. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.

More than 2,000 reels will be listed from the Dave Yost View-Master® collection on eBay in the coming weeks. The View-Master® items are being listed by seller gottoyz4u, who acquired the collection at a local auction from Lilitz, Pennsylvania. "Several popular View-Master® sets have already been listed and sold with many more to come," said seller gottoyz4u. "There are several reels and sets in experimental packaging listed in the auctions."
Some of the rarer items are the display advertising pieces. One of the display items is a lighted promotional motion lamp introducing the new GAF Talking View-Master® Stereo Viewer. The tabletop display illuminates the top and bottom graphics, which isthe same artwork featured on several View-Master® sets. Text describes the images as Space, Biblical, Fairy Tales, Scenic Wonders and more. The lower images rotate but the top images are stationary. Asking price is $1,999.99 with the option to make an offer.
The next advertising piece is a Sawyer's View-Master® rolling multi-viewer tabletop display. Five View-Master® viewers are mounted to the display, which illuminates and turns, allowing people to preview the View-Master® reels in each viewer. Asking price is $1,499.99 with an option to make an offer.
The auctions for the tabletop displays are set to end on July 4.

A KISS Read-Along View-Master® set sold for $218.62 with 26 bids.
A Captain Kremmen View-Master® set on a yellow blister card sold for $5.50 with three bids. This is a rare time that View-Master® produced a 3-reel set that showed a woman with erect nipples in the artwork on the cover of the blister card. The set was released in 1979.
Captain Kremmen was a science fiction radio serial set in the early 21st Century. The pilot opens in 2005. It was written and performed for Capital Radio by the DJ Kenny Everett, and was also broadcast on Liverpool's Radio City and Nottingham's Radio Trent. It featured the eponymous vain and dimwitted spaceship captain Elvis Brandenburg Kremmen. Everett took the name Kremmen from a record label owned by the son of the Man of a Thousand Voices, Mel Blanc. Each episode began with a recap by Everett's fellow DJ, Tommy Vance.
The main characters
Graduating from the Space Academy, Kremmen went on to become the world's most fabulous man, as well as a captain for Star Corps. He also has bionic veins, and a bionic left foot with a detachable big toe that converts into a space cannon. According to a "computer read-out" at the beginning of the episodes, he has an IQ of 498 and a height of 6 foot 10 inches, and is a supreme athlete, a concert pianist, Concorde pilot, mountain climber, diplomat, space captain and genius. Another variation on the opening script said he had "muscles in places where most other people don't even have places".
Carla - Born in New York on July 27, 1950 was an American, Carla is the world's most voluptuous woman. She came from a poor family, and used her beauty to get a job in Star Corps. Whenever alone with Kremmen, she persuades him to have casual sex with her. Her first visual appearance saw her looking like Marilyn Monroe, but this was changed in the TV series.
Dr. Heinrich von Gitfinger - Born in Eastbourne on April 27, 1948 Named "Grelbman" in the graphic novel, Gitfinger is Kremmen's scientific aide from Germany. In some areas, he is portrayed as a Nazi. He is married and has children living in West Germany. Also Michael Fish a.k.a. Dr. Gitfinger born on April 27, 1944.
Other minor characters include Gonad, Schmuckstein, Threllmer and Fooman, who are all technicians aboard the Troll-1, Kremmen's spaceship, which is more than a little reminiscent of a portable cassette recorder.
