View-Master® Image Featured on National Barbie® Doll Collectors 2012 Convention Pins

GAF View-Master® Barbie® pinback button

Attendees at the 2012 National Barbie® Doll Collectors Convention were able to obtain View-Master® related collectible pins. The pins features the artwork of View-Master® Barbie packets. One of the pins features artwork from Sawyer's Barbie's Around the World Trip. The other pin shows the GAF Barbie's Around the World Trip packet art. These pins have shown up for sale for an asking price of $25 each on sites such as eBay.

Editor's Note: We're told there is a third pinback button in this series but have yet to locate a photo of it.

In the year 2000, Mattel issued a Cool Collecting Barbie® set that included a working miniature View-Master® viewer and reel. The set was themed in the 1960's and also included a Barbie®-sized Magic 8-ball and Barbie® Queen of the Prom game.

Frankenweenie Gets 3-D Right

Scott Gilbert posted an image on Facebook from Tim Burton's Frankenweenie with the following eagle-eyed observation. "We watched Tim Burton's 2012 Frankenweenie for the first time on Halloween night (in 3-D naturally) and was pleasantly surprised at this little detail in the scene where he's screening his homemade 3-D monster movie," wrote Gilbert. "Notice the projectors?"

View-Master 2015 Comic Con pins

A set of three promotional View-Master® 2015 San Diego Comic Con pins sold for $4.99 with one bid. One of the pins has artwork of the new virtual viewer and the words View-Master® printed in reverse white on a red field. The other two pins have the new View-Master® logo surrounded by a reel window design. One pin has a reverse white logo printed on a blue field. The other pin has the full color logo printed on a white field. The logo pins also have www.View-Master.com printed in an arc at the bottom.
