St. Patrick School Board

School Board members are elected in April of each year. Three new members are elected each year, and each elected member serves a three year term. Each member (except the President) serves as a liaison member to a committee. The President is a member ex-officio of all committees. 2000/2001 OFFICERS:

SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS:

TRISHA BUTZ ('98 to 2001) is maried to John Butz and they are the parents of Jacob, Zachary, Daniel and Sarah. Trisha has a BSN from Rockhurst College and is active in the Mother's Bible Study Group and is a Kindergarten Library Assistant. Trisha says that she enjoys being involved in Church/School. At the parish she attended previously, she served on the School Board for three years, serving as President for two years. She says that although is was at times demanding and time consuming she found it very enjoyable.

JIM MURPHY ('98 to 2001) has two children, Erin and Patrick. Jim has a Masters in Education Administration and is employed by UMR in Residential Housing. He is active in the Finance Committee and serves as a Lector and an Usher. This is Jim's second term on the school board having served from 1995 through 1998, the final year of which he served as the School Board President. Jim feels that the school board is an important parish ministry and wants to continue to contribute to it to the best of his ability.

SHARON YOUNG ('98 to 2001) is married to John Young and they are the parents of Mandy and Sean. Sharon is self-employed at Arby's. This is Sharon's second term on the school board having served from 1995 through 1998. Sharon has served as a committee chairman for the Oktoberfest and as chairman of the Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. Sharon feels that the Catholic Education of our children is one of the most important ministries of the Catholic Church.

JIM GRAHAM('99 to 2002) is married to Mary Graham and they are the parents of John, George, Genevieve and Nathaniel. Jim is active as a parish member in the Knights of Columbus and in the community as a member of the Lion's Club and Boy Scouts of America. Jim has worked in the pharmaceutical and laboratory industry and is currently taking some time to be a stay-at-home dad. When asked why he wanted to be a member of the school board he responsed "Mary and I have moved six times in the last twelve years, becoming members of a new parish each time. These parishes have ranged from those with large energetic schools to a parish which had to close it's school doors. I have taken lessons from all of these experiences and feel that I can provide a responsible and well-educated voice for the parents and children of St. Patrick's School."

MATT PARKER ('99 to 2002) is married to Sheryl Parker and they are the parents of John Parker. Matt is also the stepfather of Amy Malloy Skaggs and Kit Malloy. Matt is a graduate of UMR with a B.S. in Geological Engineering. John assists with the Parish Oktoberfest, Rummage Sale, Parish Maintainance and Parish School of Religion. John says he "feels that as a parent and parishioner, the more involved and informed he becomes the more usefull to the school and parish he will be".

KATE SULLIVAN ('99 to 2002) is married to John Sullivan and they are the parents of Adam, Michael and Patrick. Kate is a Registered Nurse and is currently staying home with her children. She has served as Chairman of the Development Committee, the Librarian at St. Patrick School, and has worked with Liturgy of the Word for Children, Vacation Bible School, and the Motherhood Bible Study group. Kate feels there "needs to be better communication between the School Board and Development Committee to that both can better asssist the school in our continuing growth".

ROSANNE EMMETT (2000 to 2003) is married to Patrick Emmett and they are the parents of Jessica, Jacob, Samuel and Benjamin. Rosanne has a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Communications. She works at a local physician's office as well as being a Pampered Chef Consultant. She is active in the Development Committee, Children's Liturgy, Parish School of Religion and Home and School. When asked why she wanted to be on school board she stated "I would like to be a member of the school board so that I may offer my talents to help the school grow and be able to help our children reach their greatest potential."

JIM FELS (2000 to 2003) is married to Cathy Fels. They have three children: Cory, Taylor and Joshua. Jim has a degree in Geology from the University of Missouri at Columbia and works as a geologist for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in Rolla. Jim is active in the Home and School Association and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. Family values (both immediate family and parish family) are very important to Jim and he wants to reflect those values wherever possible through the school board. Jim is serving his second term on the school board.

KARLA MANK (2000 to 2003) is married to Del Mank. They are the parents of Zachary Mank. Karla has a B.S. in Chemistry and an M.S. in Engineering Management. Karla is employed as a consultant and lecturer at University of Missouri at Rolla. Karla is active in the Development Committee and is a volunteer in the Computer Lab. When asked why she wants to be on School Board she stated "I would like to support and enhance the wonderful environment and academic strength at St. Patrick School, working with teachers, parents and the parish. I want to work toward and contribute to our bright future."
