Swiss K-31 Sling

For a step by step description of how to install the sling, CLICK HERE

Sling Length - 47 3/4 inches

Sling Width - 1 3/16 inches

This sling came with the rifle when purchased from FGS in 2000.  I believe this to be the proper sling for this model.  The sling itself is made of thick leather, but it is dry to the point of cracking when bent.  Restoration will be necessary to prevent further deterioration.

This sling came on a Simpson's K-31 in 2001.  It looks like the name of a previous owner has been stamped in the sling.  Doug checked for the name under the buttplate of the rifle, and it did have someone's name there, too, but it was not the same name as on the sling.  Still very interesting, though..

Just a comment on the K31 sling of Doug Henry.  "Sattler" is saddler in German and I think this is a makers mark rather than an owners mark. My 96/11 sling is marked with an oval makers stamp (same format as your picture of the 1889 sling).  Click HERE to see Robert's sling.
