SOCCER in

ROLLA, MISSOURI

There are five organizations responsible for promoting soccer in Rolla. At the highest level, the University of Missouri-Rolla has both men's and women's programs. Rolla High School supports both boys and girls at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. Rolla Area Youth Soccer League (RAYSL) provides children aged 9-15 an opportunity to play recreational level soccer. The Optimist Club Program, provides the same recreational opportunity for 5 to 8 year olds. The Rolla Knights Soccer Club is targeted towards players who wish to advance their soccer skills by playing at a comeptitive level.

RAYSL and Rolla Optimist Club Youth Soccer Program are recreational programs; participation and  positive experience are premium importance. No prior playing experince is necessary to participate in these two programs. All teams are co-ed. We try to ensure each team has about the same balance of boys and girls.

Competitive teams for U9 and above form each year for both girls and boys and are registered under Rolla Knights Soccer Club.  Some participate in the Central Missouri Soccer League or other leagues in St. Louis or Springfield, and travel.  Additionally, new teams (from U7 and above) are established after the Spring Season to participate at the Show-Me State Games, held  in Columbia, MO at the end of July every year.
