Greetings and Blessings from Sacred Heart Parish family !
Just a brief note to you as pastor of this friendly small Catholic Church in the middle of beautiful Dent County. We invite you to share in our Sunday Masses celebrated at 5:30 pm on Saturday and at 9:00 am on Sunday. Our liturgies are fully celebrated by all who attend, with visitors welcomed warmly. Together we meet the Lord Jesus in His Word and the Sacrament of His love as He comes among us.
We try to serve the surrounding communities by service to the poor and needy through our parish St. Vincent de Paul Society and feeding the hungry in our Hall each Wednesday. We attempt to share our Faith by our Evangelization Commission. This is part of their outreach to the larger community.
We have classes throughout the school year for young folks in our Parish School of Religion that meets each Sunday after the 9:00 am Mass. We try to help inquirers grow in our faith through the Rite of Christian Initiation of adults that meets each Sunday. Most folks meet after Mass for a fellowship coffee and donuts shared in our beautiful parish hall.
We have an active group of parish women in the Altar Society that offer chicken dinners throughout the year. many of our men belong to the local Council of the Knights of Columbus and many of the women in the Women's Auxiliary. They sponsor the Columbian Squires for young men and Columbian Girls for young women. By the way, this girls' group was the first established in the world.
