OVERLAND LIONS - AUTUMN IN THE PARK

The Overland Lions were participants in "Autumn in the Park" on September 28, 1997. The club felt that was a huge success. The Hearing Van was there and 49 people, ages 3 to 82, were tested. While 35% passed the testing, the 65% that failed were advised to see their doctor.

The Overland club also had Amblyopia testing. 19 children were tested. One child showed the possibility of having Lazy Eye. It gave our group a gratifying feeling to make the parents aware of a potential problem that can be corrected.

Participating in the Ritenour High School Home Coming Parade October 11th was an enjoyable experience. Members walked along side the float handing out candy, while one member wore a Lion costume. Being a part of this function us to bring attention to our organization and services to the community. The Overland Lions Club received an award for first place for BEST COMMUNITY FLOAT.
