SENIOR SERVICES CENTER'S CONSTRUCTION CO.

El Dorado Springs Lions Richard Mallinson, Raymond Williams, Bob Roe, Forrest Troyer and T.J. Smading (taking picture), took the time to give a helping hand to an elderly lady in need. Together the men constructed a ramp that was wheel chair accessible for her husband so he could come home from the hospital.

Recently an elderly lady in the El Dorado Springs community contacted Glenna Ray at the El Dorado Springs Senior Services Center for some information and assistance. This in itself is not an unusual occurrence, nor were the results. The lady needed assistance in making her home accessible for her husband who has become confined to a wheel chair. The problem lay in that the construction cost was more than their budget would allow, and her husband couldn't be released from the hospital until he had access in and out of their home.

Glenna then drew on the wealth of talent and experience available at

the Center by recruiting the assistance of Raymond Williams, a member of the El Dorado Springs Lions Club, to look into what was needed at the home. Raymond then took the bull by the horns, or maybe in his case the mule by the ears, and recruited an impromptu construction crew of Lions Club members, most of them being regulars at the senior center. The results of their efforts were no surprise either, considering the combined years of experience used in the construction of the ramp. The final result effort was a great looking project which allows a gradual slope to make it more easily accessible for a safe entry into the home.
