The Wright City Lions Club ended 1996 after accomplishing the following: After the Annual Strassenbash, donated $18,000 to the local Chamber of Commerce from our stand for community betterment; Santa's visit to the club for children (and parents) for candy and gifts, plus, Myopia Screening for those interested; and giving to the Ministerial Alliance, $200 for food for the needy at Christmas. At Governor's Night we presented checks to the District Governor for

$4,000 for MLERF and $1,000 for the District Sight Program. Eye exams and eye glasses were furnished to needy persons, approximately $1,000. In May at our local high school graduation, two $1,000 scholarships were given to area students. The club also collected eye glasses for eye glass wrap at the Warrenton Club. THE OVERLAND LIONS REPORT | |
They installed four new members this year. They also report a very successfull Overland Lions Fair in July raising a lot of money for charity.

The Overland Lions will have a float in the Ritenour High School Home Coming Parade, Oct. 11.
