Missouri Lions

I look back today to the joint state meeting of the Membership, Extension, and Leadership Committees held in Jefferson City on August 9th. It was a great meeting with higher than expected attendance, lots of new information was presented, and good participation by all Lions. It marks another strong effort to put MD 26 into the positive side of membership numbers.

The problem is to get this information to each Lion so that they can be knowledgeable and motivated enough to ask some one to join. Our multiple and District committees are succeeding toward that goal. But each Lion has a tool in their home that will enable them to tell a prospect what Lions do. A tool for membership that very often is put aside after being lightly reviewed. THE LION, our international magazine gives all the reasons Lions need to ask someone to join. The September 1997 issue features our International President's program. Edukits. The L.C.I.F. Grant for the Strickfaden Assistive Devices Center. The article for Disabled Travelers. Texas Districts 2-S, 2-X1 and the Rockford, Idaho Twin Butte Lions Club cooperating on a high cost surgery for a young lady. Camps for Physically Disabled Children. Vocational Training. The L.C.I.F. China Project. Emergency grants for local projects. A therapeutic bike donated by the Willow Springs Lions Club. Kids Days, and too much more to include in this article!

If you ever feel you have a lack of knowledge of what you as Lions do, then take this magazine with your multiple, district, and club newsletters and share them with a perspective member. The projects speak for themselves. WE SERVE, from our local community to the international community.

Yours in Lionism
