The area girls team defeated the Springfield girls team with a score of 60
to 43. The area girls team lead the series 13 games to 5.
The All-Star City Team is pictured in white tops while the All-Star Area Team is in purple tops.
The area boys team also defeated the Springfield boys team with a score of
66 to 61. The city boys team leads their series with an 11 game to 9
margin.
The boys game used the same color scheme as the girls game with the city team in white tops and the area team in purple tops.
To honor the 20th anniversary of the high school classic the player awards
were presented by Miss Melody Howard. Melody played in the 1990 classic,
record holder for the SMSU Ladybears, and now a member of the Colorado
Xplosion of the A.B.L. Helping Miss Howard make the presentations was
Lion Ernie Schlicting, IPDG.

Also, the Competicheer All-Star Cheerleaders preformed at halftime of each game and between the games. The group is made up of
22 high school age boys and girls that have ranked in the top ten at National Competition the past two years.
The Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation will receive $6,425 from this year's classic and the Association for the Blind in Springfield will receive $1,225. In the 20-year history of the classic, the games have totaled a net profit of over $110,725.
