Past District Governor E.B. Smith was honored June 24 at the Sedalia Lions Club's annual banquet. E.B. was presented with the club's distinguished service award. Lion Smith Joined the Sedalia Lions Club in 1949 and by 1954 he had managed to serve two years as club secretary, one year as club president and one year as Deputy District Governor.He served three terms as 100% District Governor, 26-C - 1955-56, 26-G - 1969-70 and 26-I - 1989-90; 12 years as Cabinet Sec/Treas for 26-G (10 years) and 26-I (2 years). While DG he received 6 extension awards (2 each term). Lion E.B. was campaign manager for International Directors; Dr. Harry Goddard, B.W. Robinson, Cecil Ettinger, and Wayne Henderson. He also served as Sec/Treas for Harold
| Keely's campaign and was on the Charlie Page campaign committee.A Melvin Jones Fellow, he also has two Presidential Awards, 10 President's Certificates, is a Special International Counselor, has at least 47 years of perfect attendance, and is a Senior Master Key holder. While District Governor the second time he created the state membership "Door Knob Award" still used in the Multiple District.
