EXTENSION - EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS

We are looking for a few good Lions Clubs; in order to get them, we need a few good Lions to organize them. Why new clubs? Of the eleven Districts in the state half are below the minimum of 1250 members or 35 clubs. This will cause redistricting of the state which is not an easy

thing to do.

So how do we get new clubs, first we get organized. The state has an Extension Chairman who will train the District Chairperson who will train and assist the District Extension Teams. This is where the few good Lions come in. We need team members that are

knowable and are willing to spend the time to organize a club. It usually takes a lot of time to get a club organized.

These teams cannot do the job alone, all Lions in the state should be looking for communities that need a club or another club. Then contact the Extension Team to

plan how to approach this community. Be prepared for several weeks of work; it usually is not an easy quick project. There are towns that have one club but could use another because the need is there. Also, the clubs can support each other in projects and fund raisers.

The goal of the state is

to have a membership increase for the next three years. One way is new clubs. Each District should set a goal of replacing each of the clubs lost in the last five years in the next three years. If we do this, no District should be below the 35 club requirement.
