Early Bird Art & Shopping Tour
for Convention Attendees

No more sitting around your hotel room wondering what to do. Your reward for arriving on Friday is an Early Bird Art & Shopping Tour specially arranged for you by Downtown Columbia. You'll have time for lots of shopping and browsing in the art galleries and unusual specialty shops, as well as time for cool drinks and great food either inside or on shaded restaurant patios.

Downtown Columbia is a masterpiece of entertainment, fine dining, shopping, museums and galleries. Bordered on three sides by college campuses, the downtown area continues to be an evolving and vibrant district of unique restaurants, one-of-a-kind specialty shops and owner operated retail stores.

Art is one of the many exciting offerings of the Downtown. With eighteen different locations, the galleries of Downtown are special places where exhibits are arranged for your viewing pleasure. From Bluestem Missouri Crafts showcasing the work of over 180 Missouri artisans to the elegant neoclassical Dauphine Gallery featuring the art of Brian Mabeiu and Jane Anne Gideon, you will be delighted with your choices.

A shuttle bus will pick you up at the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center at 10 or 10:30 a.m. and take you to the lovely new Courthouse Square in the heart of Downtown. On the short drive, a step-on guide will give a brief overview of some of the treats in store for you in Columbia's downtown area. Lunch will be on your own and guide will offer information and suggestions about dining options in Downtown. A punch and cookie reception will be held in your honor at Columbia's largest gallery, Legacy Art & BookWorks, before the shuttle bus takes you back to the hotel at 2:30 or 3:00 p.m..
