Since July, I have been in 9 of our 11 districts on one or more visits from cabinet meetings to charter nights. Lionism is active in all of these districts. In districts where we are below the 1250 membership level I see plans developing to help this problem. The best laid plans can only be effective if each member in the district does his or her part. That part is to Ask Someone to join us in our efforts to help those who are in need. I did not meet my goal of visiting all 11 districts, so I promise District 26-C and District 26-F that my next visits will be with them.
My last membership report shows four districts below the 1250 level, a shortage of 400 members. We have 14,870 Lions in MD 26. Surely, if we work together and Ask Someone to join we can overcome this small deficit. If you like mathematics that means each Lion in the state needs to get .03 persons to join. If we overcome that small 400 member deficit our multiple would be among the tops internationally and potential redistricting would be but a memory. Let's do it!
The next International Board meeting will be April 4th thru 10th in Brazil .
Yours in Lionism,
Dr. Dwayne Garrett
International Director
