"We've donated to the Foundation every year, so we just decided to go bigger this time," stated Lion President Joe Brown.
With twelve members remaining and one charter member, the Williamsburg-Calwood Lions decided to disband their club in October, after serving Lionism for 35 years.
Lion Treasurer Don Ison explained, "We gathered up our assets out of the club and thought this (MLERF) was a good place to put it." Charter member Lion Clyde Hickman summed up the visit saying, "You've gotta have money to operate, and we believe in what the Foundation is doing, so this was the best place for us to put it."
While Missouri hates to lose a club, we have gained some true friends who will carry the Lion's motto with them wherever their lives may lead.
