We hear so much about values today, and the fact that they have almost become meaningless. Values without virtue are worth nothing, and virtue comes from God. Jack and Lillian believed this, and took their virtues from "the laws of Moses" and the "teachings of Jesus Christ". They were faithful in their worship, and these qualities made them naturals to become Lions and Lion leaders.
Jack received many honors in the political world and in Lionism, but he remained humble to the very end. He was a much beloved District Governor, and then took an appointment as Zone Chairman because he was needed, and of course, did an excellent job.
The Bible says that when a man and woman marry, they become as one, and certainly this was true of Jack and Lillian. Lillian had Lionism in her heart just as Jack did. I called on them often, sometimes at the last minute, with difficult tasks, but they made it look easy.
I know the petroleum distributor that sold Jack his products for many years stated that "they broke the mold when they made Jack". Jack's word was his bond. You could set your clock by the way Jack paid his bills. Jack Sutor was the same man when he bought from you as when he sold to you. Jack and Lillian lived less than forty miles from the Nixons, yet if it had not been for Lionism, we would never have known the Sutors. That thought is awful for me to contemplate.
