THE CONCORD VILLAGE LIONS CLUB MAKES DONATIONS

The Concord Village Lions Club presented $15,000.00 to the Lions District 26 A1 Eye Care Committee. These funds are used for diagnosis and treatment of eye disease of persons who qualify as financially disadvantaged. This donation was made possible by the clubs annual Fish For Sight Bass Fishing Tournament held in May of each year at Truman Lake. Co-Chairmen Tom Renaud (far right) and Gene Drury (far left) presented the donation to Lions District Governor James R. Wood (left center) and Lions Eye Care Committee Chairman Jack Levy (right center).

The Concord Village Lions Club presented a donation of S5,669.00 to Dr. Ronald Walkenbach Executive Director of the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation (left center). These funds were part of the proceeds from the Concord Village Lions annual Fish for Sight Bass Fishing Tournament in May this year. They will be used by the Foundation for eye research and cornea transplants. The Concord Village Lions Club presented a $5000 donation to Lions World Services for the Blind. This donation was part of the funds raised by the annual Fish for Sight Bass Tournament held every year in May at Truman Lake. The donation was made to honor Lion Les Crecelius, a Concord Village Lions charter member, past District Governor of Lions District 26-A1, and long time Concord Village businessman, posthumously. Jim Cordell (center) President of the Lions World Services for the Blind accepted the check. Pictured are Lions Gene Drury (left rear) and Tom Renaud (right rear) two of the Tournament Chairmen. (Lion Mike Rufkahr the third event chairman is not pictured.) Lucille Crecelius (left front) holds a plaque presented to her in honor of her late husband by the club. Larry Crecelius (right front) was also present in the ceremony honoring his father.

In a seperate action pictured below, the Concord Village Lions Club also made a donation of $5000 to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. This organization provides college scholarships for current and former Marines children. Special consideration is given to children whose parent was killed or wounded in action. Applicants must demonstrate high academic achievement and a financial need. The family income cannot exceed a prescribed limit. Lion Earle B.
