GOVERNORS ENDORSE HEARING AID COLLECTION

At the July Council of Governors meeting, the council voted to make the collection of hearing aids part of the state program of the Missouri Lions Hearing Conservation Committee. Although hearing aids had been collected in the past, there was no central collection or delivery point.

Now the Hearing Committee asks all clubs to actively collect hearing aids the same way they do eye glasses. Collected hearing aids can then be delivered to the district hearing chairman. The hearing chairman will transport the hearing aids to the Missouri Lions state office in Jefferson City for the quarterly committee meetings.

An agreement has been made with the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Missouri, to recycle and place these hearing aids. Mid South Sight and Hearing Service in Memphis, Tennessee, may also receive some of these hearing aids.

The Missouri Lions Hearing Conservation Committee asks Lions Clubs across the state to help us provide more resources for the people we serve.
