Incredimail; I don’t know how many of you use it as your mail receiving/reading program, but it has always been high on my list of great programs. Now Incredimail is becoming my favorite program. (In it’s class).

Recent changes to the program have added a new folder that is the best eliminator of Junk mail I have seen so far.  If you have Incredimail, go to their web site and download an update. Just click on the download button on their site and it will find your file and update you to the newest edition.

When you open Incredimail after downloading, the new folder will be on the left side of the screen it is called  Junk & Unapproved”. If you click on the folder it brings up another page, allowing you to configure the settings. At this point the program will make a list of all the people that you have sent e-mail to, and all the people that you have received e-mail from.  This becomes a list of acceptable e-mail for delivery to your in box.  Anything else is sent to the Junk & Unapproved folder.

Now what you want to do is click on the “Junk filter settings” button that will be found on the upper right side of the screen when the Junk folder is open.  This will show you the list of people that you agree to have on the acceptable list. I guarantee that many many of them will need to be removed.  To remove people and address’ from the list just click on the line you want removed then click on remove. (You can make this removal process faster by holding down the control key and selecting several address’ and then hit remove and you get rid of batches at a time).

During this process, you will notice listings for body part lengthening, breast enlargement, home loans, (basically all the junk mail that you do not want. Remove those people from the list). Once you complete the list you continue on to using your e-mail normally. (With one major exception; you won’t get mail from anyone that is not on your list.  All those others will be dumped into the Junk & unapproved folder).

The first day that I did this, I awoke in the morning with eight e-mails from people I wished to hear from. The Junk folder had one hundred eighty four pieces that were rejected.  A quick scan through the list of refused files revealed three that I want to receive mail from. I clicked on their folder and clicked”Add to Approved Senders” and their e-mail was moved over for me.

This is real magic. All the junk is filtered out and unless I add them to my list I won’t have to put up with their garbage. This might just be the answer to the spam problems.   I do have to check the list daily to be sure that a friend wasn’t excluded, but this is made easy as well.  The Junk folder shows how many pieces of junk are contained therein, when you look at the folder all of the new additions are in bold print. If you look at the list, then open the list again, the files that you had checked are now no longer bold, only new files are bold.  This lessens the chore of checking. I love it.

Try this I promise you won’t regret it.
