Temple of Wicca

Deities

One of the things that separate us Pagans from Christianity and other religions is Deity. Catholics come about as close to Pagan than any of the other Christian religions, because of their Holy Trinity; Jesus, Joseph and Mary. Like the Norse's Odin, Freya and Thor.

In Wicca the Deity are the God and the Goddess, or Lord and Lady. Both are equal and revered in The Craft.

The God:

Often referred to as the Horned One or Sky Father. Making the sky masculine, the male aspect. It also insinuates that the God is always watching over us, because he is. In fact, the sky itself. Many different witches have many different beliefs concerning the God.

The Goddess:

Often referred to as Earth Mother. Making the earth feminine. Giving birth to all life and nurturing it as well. The female aspect.

Your choice of Deity is personal. Choose Deity that you are most comfortable with and that you can relate to.
