DMET (Best Practices) Software

DMET Application - Overview

The DMET (Delivery Management Efficiency Team) program is based primarily on the "Office and Street Management Guide" which was developed by a Great Lakes Area team. This program uses data from DSIS (DBF) to analyze workloads, productivity and trends based upon hours, volume and route base data. RES data (if available) is used to enhance the "Daily Expectations Goal Sheet" letter and drives the "Allied Delivery Time Worksheet" report.

Daily Expectations Goal Sheet (daily)

The 'Daily Expectations Goal Sheet' report projects the carrier's leaving time based upon mail volume and demonstrated casing ability. You must have the volume recorded in DSIS prior to running this report. After clicking this command button, a window will appear with a calendar. Choose the 'Group ID', type the 'Message of the Day' (optional) and choose the date (normally you would want the current day (default)). Now click the 'Accept' command button and a new window will appear. You may change carrier assignments and starting times by using the "click & drag" method. Click the command button at the bottom of the form when you are done and the reports (2) will pop up shortly thereafter. Click on the printer icon to send the reports to your printer, file, Excel etc..

Office/Street Efficiency Opportunitv Report (daily)

The 'Office/Street Efficiency Opportunity Report' shows the actual carrier variance from projected office and street times. This report is normally run the following day for the current day's analysis (clock rings must be entered). After clicking this report button, a calendar window will pop up. It is automatically set to the previous day (change the date if needed). Choose your 'Group ID' and then click the 'Accept' button. Two reports (Office & Street) will pop up shortly thereafter, showing the actual time variances from projected office/street times.

Office/Street Efficiencv Report (as needed)

The 'Office/Street Efficiency Report' shows carrier productivity, trends etc. over a user specified period of time. After clicking this report button, a calendar window will pop up. Choose the "from" date, using the calendar on the left side, and the "to" date using the calendar on the right side or click on "AP" (located on the menu bar) to choose up to 6 accounting periods of your choice. Choose your 'Group ID' and the type of carrier (Regular, T-6, Router). Click the 'Accept' button when you are ready. The amount of time needed to run this report depends upon the time period chosen and the speed of your computer. Start off with I accounting period to get an idea of how long this may take.

'Percent to Standard' or 'Feet Per Hour'

If you are using DSIS 4.1a, then you have the option of using 'Percent to Standard' or 'Feet Per Hour. From the main screen, click on the 'Percent to Standard' or 'Feet Per Hour' box to switch between the two. DSIS 4. 1 a automatically defaults to 'Percent to Standard' whereas other versions will default to 'Feet Per Hour'.

Other Reports...

Run Efficiency Report (w/office aux)

The Office/Street Efficiency Report, by default, will skip all days where the carrier has aux office help. This option lets you see the aux office help time, but the productivity totals and averages will not be a true indication of the carriers actual performance. Just click on the 'Options' menu item from the main screen.

Efficiency Report (APS only)

Same as the Office/Street Efficiency Report except this report prints only the average/total line from each route (and groups them by route). You may choose to process up to 6 APs at a time.

RES "Allied Delivery Time" Report

Consolidates RES data and sorts on % allied time (descending). May be used to complete the "Allied Delivery Time Worksheet" from the "Office and Street Management Guide".

DSIS Base Data Information

The DMET program will calculate 'FPH' and Percent to Standard! from your DSIS base data. Just click on the 'Minimum Standard' menu item from the main screen.

Feet Per Hour - Calculations

Calculation: Earned Office Time = Total Cased Feet/((minimum standard of) 3.77 (or better) + AM 'Fixed Office) + (strapout time for previous cased at 70 pcs per minute) Office/Street Efficiency Opportunity Report: A daily report showing the previous day's office/street variance. Calculation: Earned Office Time = Total Cased Feet/((minimum standard of) 3.77 (or better) + AM Fixed Office + PM Fixed Office)+(strapout time for previous cased at 70 pcs per minute) Office/Street Efficiency Report: A consolidation report that shows route/carrier data and trends. Calculation: Earned Office Time = Total Cased Feet/((minimum standard of) 3.77 (or better) + AM fixed Office + PM Fixed Office) Calculation: Percent to Standard = Total AM/PM Office Hours/Eamed Office Time (see above) Calculation: POFPH = Total Cased Feet/((Actual AM/PM Office Time)-(AM Fixed Office + PM Fixed Office))

Percent to Standard - Calculations

Calculation: Earned Office Time = ((((AM Caseable Ltrs/ 18)+(AM Caseable Flts/8)+(AM Caseable Ltrs/70)+(AM Caseable Flts/70)+(Previous Caseable Ltrs and Flts/70)) * (Percent to Standard)) / 60) + (AM Fixed Office Time) Office/Street Efficiency Opportunity Report: A daily report showing the previous day's office/street variance.
