This recipe is taken from an old
Lutheran school cookbook which was published in 1994. It says the recipe was
submitted by: Mary Gabel, Travis` Mom.
BREAKFAST
CASSEROLE
Lay (6) slices of bread in bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Cover with 1 pound
sausage, browned & drained. Add chopped celery (optional), chopped green
onion & green pepper.
Sprinkle over top: 8 oz. grated mild
cheddar cheese. Mix (4-5) eggs with (2) cups milk, 1 teaspoon dry mustard, 1
teaspoon salt, pour evenly over all.
Refrigerate over night. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cut into squares and serve. (Left-overs are delicious warmed over in the microwave).
