About Our Staff and Facility

The Vacation Bible School program is a function of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Board of Education. Each year, the board oversees a VBS team consisting of volunteers from our congregation’s membership led by the VBS director whose task is to administer the Vacation Bible School program for children ages 3 through 6th grades. The team selects a date, chooses a curriculum, and secures a staff of dedicated volunteers from our church membership to teach and direct activities. Teachers consist of adult members of our congregation (age 18 or older). Each teacher has at least one adult or youth helper to assist with the class.

The Vacation Bible School program at Immanuel makes full use of our facilities. An opening and/or closing program is held in our sanctuary each day, followed by Bible instruction located in the classrooms of our adjacent elementary day school. Recreation facilities include our school playground with recently updated equipment, as well as indoor activities in our large gymnasium. Children can be found in our school cafeteria enjoying snacks and making crafts each day of VBS.
