DORCAS

The Dorcas Society is a ladies organization that is affiliated with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the church narthex with the exception of July and August. No meetings are held during these two summer months.

Devotions or a Bible Study are part of each meeting. The Dorcas Society sponsors a Mother-Daughter Banquet each May for the congregation. Members also assist at various functions upon request. Members collect Mites for LWML missions during the month and bring these to the meeting.

LADIES AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP (LAF)

The major emphasis of this ladies group is the study of God's word. It seeks to compliment the Dorcas Society by assisting in the work of the committees and providing support for special events. LAF also supports MITES for LWML mission projects. LAF meets monthly in the afternoon on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:00 PM.

LEISURE LUTHERANS

Older Adults need no recruiting in the church for they come and come, more and more, and live longer and longer. We seek to intentionally enhance the older adult ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Ongoing programs include monthly newsletters, monthly "Leisure Lutheran" meetings, tape ministry to the shut-ins, Bible study at nursing homes, adoptive grandparents for confirmands, children's worship bags, volunteer projects at the church and school, Parish Nurse and Health Ministry, hearing devices for the hearing impaired, travel and other fellowship activities, interest groups and an annual musical to "celebrate the years".

"Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generations, your might to all who are to come."
Psalm 71:18.

LUTHERAN STUDENT FELLOWSHIP (LSF)

The purpose of Lutheran Student Fellowship is to provide a program of Christian fellowship for Lutheran university students affiliated primarily with the University of Missouri-Rolla Campus. Click here or on the bar on the left entitled Campus Ministry. This will link you to their web site.

Specific purposes of LSF are to reach out to those in the academic community with the Gospel message of God's love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ through regular Bible studies held at various locations, to serve the mission of the church by the planning and implementation of various servant events through the year, and provide opportunities for promotion and fostering friendships with other students.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MINISTRY

ISM-Rolla is affiliated with the Internation Sudent Ministry, Inc. (ISM,Inc.), a Gospel-centered ministry of friendship and hospitality among international students, spouses, and children.

LYDIA CIRCLE

The Lydia Circle is a group of ladies who enjoy quilting. They meet all day every Thursday. Funds which are realized from their quilting are used in support of the Christian Day School. Often, they bring a sack lunch, but the ladies occasionally go out to eat.

MEN'S BIBLE BREAKFAST

The men of Immanuel meet each Thursday morning at 7:30 AM in the church fellowship hall. The men are good cooks and the menu varies from week to week. A short Bible study is held after breakfast and is completed by 8:30 AM.

CHURCH COUNCIL

The Church Council acts as the administrative body of the congregation. It meets at 7 PM on the first Monday of the first full week of each month. Members of the council consist of the chairmen of the various church boards plus the president, vice-president, secretary, financial secretary, treasurer and bookkeeper.

CHURCH BOARDS

Immanuel has several church boards that work together to carry out the mission of the church. Members of the boards are elected at the December Voters' Assembly. In addition to the elected members, there are also appointed members and anyone can volunteer to help. Members are encouraged to take part in the many activities of the boards. The boards are as follows:
