The Beginning....
Grette has been
drawing and painting since she was a child.
Her favorites are wildflowers which she paints live in watercolor, faithfully
reproducing the color and features.
Recalling that
her mother and grandmother gathered the plants and flowers she painted for the
table, Grette began to sample the wildings herself.
She nibbles
Violets, Spiderwort, Sorrel, and Rose petals while in the field and enjoys cooking
with wildflowers when at home in Rolla, Missouri.
She wanted to
share her wonderful discoveries with others and began by sending hand-painted
cards to her closest friends. Her first card was the Day Lily which gets its
name from the fact that blossoms last only one day.
This was the
beginning of the current card line which is becoming very popular with kitchen
and gourmet food stores as well as book and health food stores not only because
the wildflowers themselves are actually edible but because of the faithful attention
to detail of these original watercolor designs.
In short, here
is God's supermarket blooming on a card rack.
