Reverse Information: SPIDERWORT (Tradescantia virginiana) - Uses: These beautiful blue to dark purple flowers and the buds are a delicious addition to a salad. Use the leaves right along with the blossoms. The leaves, alone or with other greens, are a good potherb, but cook them only a few minutes. Gather the flowers in the morning as they wilt in the afternoon. The spiderworts are fairly easy to cultivate in the garden. Flowers: April-June. Habitat: Open woods, thickets, meadows and roadsides.
