Motorcycle Ministry

The Oak Grove Baptist Church Motorcyle Ministry is:

Team Calvary Racing

If you are a regular visitor to my site, you might be asking:

Where is everything ?

That’s an easy one.
I had been taking stock of my effectiveness as far as my church’s motorcycle ministry was concerned.  I decided that I had been letting other hobbies get in the way.  So I began to dismantle and gather up all the extraneous bits and pieces.  Off to ebay they went and I was blessed with a large down payment for a brand new motorcycle.  Once I really got serious with the ministry, everything just fell into place.  The Lord not only got buyers for my stuff, but also put a bank in place willing to loan the balance.  Lastly, the exact motorcycle I wanted was located just 1 hour away.  A leftover, zero miles, 2004 Honda 919 with full factory warranty.

That’s it right there.  Now I no longer give excuses why I can’t ride off on a ministry effort that might be a little ‘too far’ away.  This bike is just right for my riding style and needs.

I built the bike on the right from a 1978 CB400T2.  I bought it at a junkyard for $45.00 and spent 8 months on it.  It was sold to another Christian motorcyclist that was camping down at Montauk.  It was styled like a police bike and had the Oak Grove Motorcyle Club [now ministry] decal on the tank.  On the sides of the radio box “PSALMS 91:1” and on the back “He protects and We serve”.

The bike on the left is a 1977 CB750A.  The ‘A’ is for automatic.  My good friend Randy found this bike in a garage and I bought it for $150.00.  It was in sad shape.  I spent 6 months turning it into what you see here.  I rode this bike to my 20 year high school reunion in the summer of 2005.  it was a 464 mile round trip.  This bike has been retired for a real restoration perhaps this winter.  I plan, Lord willing, to keep this bike for those at church who want to ride with the ministry but do not have their own motorcycle.
