Glen W. Brown
1924-2004

Glen W. Brown was born on Oct. 3, 1924, in Flat, Mo., to the late Issac T. and Cynthia E. (Baker) Brown, and passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the age of 79 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife and companion, Gloria, on Aug. 14, 1990; his father on Nov. 21, 1959; his mother on Jan. 1, 1983; a brother, Vernon on Oct. 2, 1973; and one sister, Edna Mace in December 1986.

Glen was a
charter member of the Men's Auxiliary of the
Jeffersonian Women's Democratic Club and served in
numerous positions for the Democratic Party, serving
most recently as a member of the 16th Senatorial
District Committee. He was an advocate for Democratic
candidates whom he supported in every way to help them
be successful.
He was a self-made, successful businessman, having owned and operated a grocery, and an automobile business in Lebanon, Licking and Cuba. Glen and Gloria made their home in Rolla in January of 1960. One year later they became owners and operators of the Plaza Mobile Home Park.
Glen is survived by a step-son, Jerry Ray of Decatur, Ill.; step-granddaughters, Christina, Ariana and Miranda Linnenbrink; nieces, Jacque Howard of California, Jill Phares and Jeanne Furse both of Arizona; and nephews Carroll Mace of Springfield, and Lynn Mace of Rolla.
Glen will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. |
 Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the Rolla Chapel of the James and Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Gary Mace officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the "Glen and Gloria Brown Scholarship Fund" which has been established to assist young persons from this community in pursuing a career in the political science field, or to The Arthritis Foundation.
Pallbearers are Mike Lybyer, Jerry McBride, Bill Ransdall, Tony Viessman, Carl Pietsch and Jon Hagler.
All arrangements are under the direction of James and Gahr Mortuary of Rolla. |
