- Mission: To bring the saving Gospel of
forgiveness in Christ Jesus to the disabled by educating,
encouraging, and empowering congregations for ministry to and with
the disabled.
- History: Chalosi Ministries was formed
in order to assist congregations in ministering to and with the
disabled. The name comes from the Greek word Chalosi
(ka-low-see) which means to let down. It is taken from the Gospel
of Mark, chapter 2 verse 4, where a paralytic was let down
into Christ`s presence through a hole cut in the roof. The name
was chosen because of the irony in the phrase let down. We,
as both congregations and individual Christians, often let down
the disabled by failing to share with them the saving news of
forgiveness, life and salvation in Christ Jesus. We also let them
down by not involving them in the task of proclaiming that saving
Gospel. By contrast, Chalosi Ministries seeks to enable
congregations to let disabled people down into the presence of
Christ.
