The 4th Sunday Road Rides
are a series of rides in Phelps County, Missouri designed to prepare riders for the Tour of the Ozarks.

These rides progress from a relatively easy 20 mile route to a challenging 47 mile jaunt through parts of four rural counties and the Mark Twain National Forest.  These rides can provide the foundation for a well balanced program that will lead to successful completion of either the 50 or 100 mile routes of the Tour of the Ozarks.

Come meet other bicyclists with similar goals and skill levels.  Whether you are interested in completing your first or fastest centure, everyone is invited to join in these rides where camaraderie, not competition, is the rule of the road.  All riders are expected to be self sufficient with adequate spares, food, and water to complete the rides.  A single support vehicle will sweep the route well after the departure time.

May
Buehler Park to the Little Piney River - Along portions of old Route 66 to the historic railroad town of Newberg.  Turn around at the Little Piney River and return to Rolla.  20 miles.

June
The Flat Loop - Starting in the shadow of the Newberg Opera House, through portions of the Mark Twain National Forest, to the community of Flat, then back to the Little Piney River Valley.

Highway C - Starting at Buehler Park, along parts of old Route 66 to Tick Creek and on to the Gasconade River Valley.  Turn around and return to Rolla.  A very scenic and quiet road with little traffic and abundant wildlife.  This is the only Fourth Sunday Road Ride that isn't on a Tour of the Ozarks route.

Quad County Tour - Starting at Spring Creek on the banks of the Big Piney River, through the Mark Twain National Forest and portions of southwest Phelps and the three surrounding counties.
