• An Intranet Based Planning System - Abstract: Most small companies are unable to afford the high cost of flexible shop floor planning or are forced to use a "one-size-fits-all" type of solution which has a high failure rate. This paper describes a project which provides the capability to generate shop floor plans with limited capital investment. By using a relational database and a web server, shop floor plans are presented in hypertext markup language and active server pages. This allows these plans to be viewed on a low cost machine. This paper will present the system architecture and the technology used to implement the planning system. [PDF file]
