Thankfulness Journal

For some time I've been keeping a record of things that I'm grateful to
God for. One thing that helps to keep us close to God is our awareness of what He's done
for us. In Heaven we'll learn more fully just what all He *has* done for us. Meanwhile, the
old song is exactly right: "Count your blessings, name them one by one, count your many
blessings, see what God has done". It's hard to be negative when our eyes are opened to
the fact that He loves us so much that He did all these wonderful things for us. He could have easily made things differently, such as no light, no humor, no color, etc. I challenge
you to create your own similar list... it's amazing how many blessings we all have. Here is my
count-in-progress, in no particular order:

I'm thankful to God...
1) that my parents are still living.
2) that I live in America, where for all her faults, she's still the best thing going.
3) that I go to bed every night in peace, free of fear.
4) that I'm not lonely.
