This is a very easy ornament to make, but not quick. Pour a small amount of acrylic paint into an empty glass ball. Move and rotate the ball to make the paint spread. Lay it on its side to dry overnight or longer. Add a 2nd color and repeat, swirling the paint to coat the see through parts. Repeat for additional colors. I kept the ball and paints on the table next to my bed, and each night I added some paint and swirled. Don't go overboard on the paint, or else the ball will be too heavy. Make sure the paint isn't too thick or thin, and allow each color to dry before adding another, or else you'll get mud.
