Cut out a heart or other shape from a *ruined* quilt. Sew on a few beads, then use a contrasting embroidery floss to sew a blanket stitch or buttonhole stitch on the edges. Use a cord (or braid the embroidery floss) to add a hanger. Finally, dip or brush the whole thing with fabric stiffener. Let it dry flat on waxed paper.
