Fabric Bells
To make this bell, draw out the pattern any size you like (mine is 4.5" long), then use it to cut out 5 pieces of fabric from
each of 2 fabrics- one for the outer bell, and one for the inside.
Sew 2 pieces of the first fabric together with an 1/8" seam, clip the upper and lower curves. Carefully press the seam to one side.
Sew on another piece, repeat, etc., then join the 2 open sides together (leaving a small opening for turning) until you have one bell.
Do the same with the 2nd fabric, but don't leave an opening. Turn both bells wrong side out. Put the inner bell into the outer bell
with their right sides together. Match up the edges and sew all the way around. Carefully clip the curve. Turn the whole thing right
side out, then fiddle with it until the inner bell doesn't show. Press the flare all the way around.
With a needle, run a gold or other cord up inside the bell and poke it out the top center. Go back down,
tie a knot, thread a jingle bell onto the inner cord, placing it so it just shows when hanging.
Fuss with it a little until it's the right length. Cut off the other dangling cord. Dab on a little No-Fray or
Fray Check to prevent the cord from unravelling. Attach a little silk berry or holly leaf at the top.
