Embroidered Nativity Ornament

To make this Holy Family, I embroidered them onto a loosely woven eggshell-colored cloth. I embroidered 2-- one front and one back. Then I used tacky glue by smearing it on the backs, then pressing the front and back together with a stack of books. Don't be too free with the glue, but you need to spread it on clear to the edges. After the embroidery is dry and sturdy, glue a gold cord or other trim around the edges. This works best by glueing short stretches, press on the trim repeatedly with your fingers until it looks right. I left enough trim free to tie a bow at the bottom.
