How I Solved Our Flea/Tick Problems

After a few summers of indoor flea infestations, I think I have finally mastered the problem, and I've not had fleas and ticks in the house now for 3 years. Here's what I did: for our Lab, I went to my vet's clinic and bought 'Advantage' for large dogs. You squirt a pre-measured amount of the stuff between the dog's shoulder blades. It costs about $25, but the package of three treatments lasted the whole season. Next we got her 'Preventic' tick collar. It runs a hefty $11, but works the whole season and is worth every cent. Our poor, dull-coated, tick-infested, no-appetite, no energy canine returned to her old feisty, energetic, glossy-coated, healthy self in about a week. Grossly enough, I was actually vacuuming up ticks from the carpet, within hours of putting on the collar! Yuck! Now for the cat, again from the vet I got 'Frontline Top Spot' that kills both fleas and ticks. Price: $26 for a whole season...not your little $0.97 flea collar. Again, it's the stuff you squirt between the cat's shoulder blades. No more vermin! I know this adds up to some serious money for some, but it's an easy, effective way to be free from these pests. I'm not affiliated with these products in any way...just a happy customer.
