3/4 c sugar or Splenda
In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat;
3/4 c water
3/4 c vinegar
1 1/2 t salt
3/4 t pepper
2 cans sliced beets
cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand at room temperature
for about 1 hour. Cover and chill 6 hours to overnight. Garnish with chopped
green onions if desired.
