Development
Program development for your web site will include the following basic
processes:
- Editorial development. Review of all of the editorial material
available and working with the client to determine what material will be
included on the site.
- Site Architecture. Categorise all of the available content into
sections for the web site, create hierarchies of information, and structure
each section of the site. In addition to defining the site's structure, this
step includes creating a site blueprint, presenting the diagram to the client
for approval and incorporating client changes.
- Design. Create initial site sketches based on one design concept,
incorporate client approval and receive final sign off on initial sketches,
create final page designs and all site assets (including photos, illustrations,
navigation buttons, icons and so on), and manage revisions and final
approval.
- Production: graphics/html. Optimise all design elements and site
assets for the web, including conversion of artwork, indexing, reviewing
graphics in multiple browsers, and making final adjustments of graphics after
indexing. Create page templates and combine all design elements and site assets
into final web page creation.
- Site review and testing. Proof and review final HTMl files for
content accuracy, check design consistency, and verify all links and
navigation. This also includes final client approval.
- Uploading to server. Place files on the server, test all links, as
well as incorporating any last-minute changes and additions from the
client.
- Marketing. Register the site with various search engines.
All of the above is included in the price quoted. You only pay extra if you
require additional pages or items for your site (which were not included in the
initial quote).
