Equitable access - Computers and technology are more important than ever. RollaNet's Pine/Online project ensures that everyone in Rolla and the surrounding community has access to this technology. You don't have to be a RollaNet member to use the office. The use of the equipment and software is $1 per hour to RollaNet contributing members, and available to everyone else for a low fee of $3 per hour. You do not have to own your own computer to have Internet access and email!

High-speed Internet access, fast computers, printing and scanning - Pine/Online public computers are not only useful to those who don't own their own computers, but very handy for computer owners whose computer may be in the shop, or who experience slow downloads. Out of town visitors find the Pine/Online facilities to be helpful as well.

Increase and improve online community information - By providing easy-to-use software, specialized equipment, and training opportunities to individuals and organizations, RollaNet hopes to help everyone to be an information provider, whether you own a computer or not. Non-profit community organizations are welcome to use Pine/Online equipment and software to establish a web page on our server for free.

Additional services and training opportunities - Pine/Online also offers access to laser printers, including a color laser printer. The office also has a scanner, a media reader for scanning photos from digital camera memory, and cd burners.

Clubs and businesses wishing to train small groups are also invited to use the facilities for training. For example, in the past, the Pine/Online office has been used for this purpose by Boy/Girl Scout groups, the Phelps County Genealogical Society, and Phelps County Bank.

Family-friendly - We want Pine/Online to be an especially fun place for families, from kids to seniors. Access to the Internet is not restricted by software; however, users should use good judgement about what is displayed on their screen or printed, considering the public/family nature of the facility. For more information on this subject, please review the Pine/Online Usage Guidelines.
