Community Project: Non-Profit Organizations
As a community service, RollaNet will host web pages for Rolla area
non-profit community organizations at no charge. This project has the
following goals:
1) To benefit members of the community and other interested parties by
providing a rich resource of information about Rolla area non-profit
organizations; the services they offer, their purpose, and their goals.
2) To benefit non-profit organizations by providing the means to reach many
people via the Internet for the purpose of distributing information about
their organizations. This might include information on how to donate to
the organization and/or how to become a volunteer for the organization.
There are two options for free non-profit accounts:
Option 1:
- If a non-profit organization is unable to create their own web page,
RollaNet volunteers and staff will create a basic web page for them using
information provided by the organization.
- The web page may consist of a scanned logo (scanned by RollaNet if
necessary), information on the organization's mission, address and
phone number, how to volunteer, and other pertinent information.
Minor updates will also be made by RollaNet volunteers and staff if
necessary.
- This offer includes a PUBLIC membership which will grant dial-up access to
our free public modems, and one free email account in the name of the
organization.
- The organization may choose to have RollaNet host their web page without
benefits of membership. In this case, please visit our Pine/Online office
to leave the information and any logos you want to appear on the web
pages. The name of an authorized representative of the organization and a phone
number must be included with the information. A RollaNet volunteer or
staff member will contact you if necessary.
Option 2:
- If the organization would like to design their own web pages, RollaNet
will still host the pages at no charge, but updates to the site must be made by
the organization. Content of the web site is determined by the non-profit
organization.
- Non-profit community organizations who prefer this option are considered
to be "information providers" and as such are entitled to a PREFERRED
membership which will grant dial-up access to our preferred modems and one
email address in the name of the organization.
- The organization may choose to have RollaNet host their web page without
benefits of membership. In this case, please visit our Pine/Online office
to arrange to deliver completed web pages designed by your organization to
our webmaster for uploading to the RollaNet site. The name of an authorized
representative of the organization and a phone number must be included
with the information.
