Configure Netscape Messenger Email

1. Click the Start button. From the Start menu, point to Netscape Communicator and choose Netscape Navigator.

2. When Netscape Navigator opens, click Edit from the menu bar and choose Preferences.

3. Under Mail & Groups click the Identity link. In the Full Name text box, type your name. In the Email Address text box, type your RollaNet email address. For example: youruserid@rollanet.org. Make sure there are no spaces or capital letters.

4. Still under Mail & Groups click the Mail Server link. In the Mail server username text box, type your RollaNet userid. Do not include the @rollanet.org portion of the email address, type the userid only. In the Outgoing mail [SMTP] server text box, type smtp.rollanet.org (again, no spaces or capitals.) Be especially careful to eliminate any spaces which may be undetected at the beginning of the text box; if you are in doubt backspace till you reach the very beginning of the box and then type the information. In the Incoming Mail Server text box, type pop.rollanet.org. Select POP3 (messages and folders are kept locally, on the hard disk). Do NOT check Leave messages on server after retrieved. We discourage RollaNet members from using this since it puts a huge demand on our server space. Mail left on the server after retrieval could be lost when old email spools are cleared.Click the OK button to close the window.

If Netscape Messenger is properly configured you should now be able to send and receive email successfully.
