The Michael Jones Foundation, Inc. is a not for profit organization promoting academic and athletic excellence in youth. The foundation was started in 1995 by Michael Jones, Leslie Jones (his spouse), and his eight brothers and sisters. The initial purpose was to provide football clinics to youth in the Kansas City and St. Louis Metropolitan areas. The free football clinics have given the children of these areas an opportunity to interact with local and national celebrities without paying large amounts of money to attend a clinic of similar nature. The clinics have guest speakers at the end of the day to talk to the children about drug awareness, sexual awareness and gang violence.

To accompany the clinics, we provide a special camp for physically and mentally challenged children and adults. The participants in this special camp learn various football drills and perform a celebration dance after each skilled learned.

In 1999, the MJF will hold camps in five cities through out Missouri and Illinois. The cities and tentative dates are listed on the following page.

The Foundation provides scholarships to St. Louis and Kansas City students for college. The grants are $1,000 each and do not have to be repaid. Through football clinics and grants, we have been able to enlighten over 3000 youth and adults, the last four years.

The Michael Jones Foundation, Inc. was started by Michael Jones of the St. Louis Rams. Michael is currently in his eighth year in the National Football League. Before signing with the Rams, Michael played six years with the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders. The Foundation has no paid full-time or part time staff. All the members of the Michael Jones Foundation are volunteers. The numbers of volunteers are approximately twenty-five.

To maintain these programs sponsors are solicited both locally and nationally. Various sponsors include: Wal-Mart; Gateway 2000; Stratco; National Studios; National Sports Agency; Equis Group; NFL Charities; Hot 103 Jamz; Majic 105; Mizzou Football; Kansas City School District; Normandy School District; St. Louis City and County Police Departments; Kansas City Police Department; Enterprise Rent-a-car; and Visions.

As another fund raiser we started a golf tournament and auction. The title of the golf tournament is the Michael Jones Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held annually in St. Louis, MO. Various national and local celebrities participate in the golf tournament.
