LESSONS LEARNED (LL) / BEST PRACTICES (BP)
- System
Integration & Test (LL) - Abstract: An overview of the
most often repeated mistakes and problems, worst practices observed, and
advice and recommendations based upon summary results of a limited "lessons
learned" survey conducted in late May/early June 1989, is offered
by NASA's Space Engineering- Engineering Directorate. The survey was confined
to space flight hardware/software and related test/support equipment, and
limited in scope to the development phase from the start of execution (i.e.
phase C/D) up to but not including launch. Pre-phase C/D, launch, and in-orbit
experience (i.e. problems) were excluded, and the number of survey participants
was limited in order to simplify information gathering for an initial report
(see also subsystem
fabrication, assembly, integration & test)
