Management Benchmarking: Lessons Learned - Abstract: In
1993, EM conducted two important studies: the Environmental Restoration
and Waste Management Benchmarking for Cost Improvement initiative, and
the Project Performance Metrics Study. The former was conducted to pilot
test benchmarking as an EM cost improvement tool; identify areas for cost
improvement and recommend actions to address these areas; and provide a
framework for future cost improvement. The latter was conducted to measure
the status of EM project systems and to provide a baseline for measuring
improvement.
