• A Cross - Case Analysis of Small Companies Implementing Cellular Manufacturing - Abstract: In the Fall of 1996, nine case studies (theory building) were conducted to determine activities required for transforming small companies. A cross-case analysis of these case studies has shown that when cellular manufacturing is implemented with cultural and technology strategies, the entire enterprise can be transformed. The analysis also revealed issues related to cellular manufacturing that are unique to small companies. This paper will discuss cellular manufacturing as a mechanism for enterprise transformation and the issues associated with it that are unique to small companies. [PDF file]
